6-Week Master Syllabus
A rigorous, project-based intensive designed for real-world commercial execution.
Manual Camera Operation & Optical Calibration
Mastering camera sensors, aperture, ISO, and the non-negotiable 180-degree shutter angle rule. Hands-on optical calibration using Sony 4K systems, zebra exposure aids, and manual white balance targeting with 18% gray cards.
Three-Point Continuous Lighting & Color Separation
Physics of diffusion, inverse-square law of illumination, and softbox positioning. Key, fill, and hair/rim light balance. Eliminating background green cast and achieving natural skin tones under SDR Rec.709 color spaces.
Microphone Physics, Room Acoustics & Noise Reduction
Cardioid vs supercardioid polar patterns, proximity effect, and boom microphone placement. Practical acoustic dampening in tropical environments. Analog preamps and hardware gain staging calibrated between -18 dBFS and -12 dBFS.
EQ, Compression, De-Essing & EBU R128 Loudness
Post-production vocal processing chains in Audacity and modern DAWs. High-pass filtering (80Hz), surgical resonance notching, multiband compression, and brickwall limiting. Delivering mastered audio compliant with ITU-R BS.1770 and YouTube -14 LUFS standards.
OBS Studio, Hardware Encoding & Real-Time Production
Configuring OBS Studio for zero dropped frames: NVENC GPU hardware encoding, CBR bitrate management, 2-second keyframe locking, dynamic scene transitions, animated lower thirds, and synchronous multichannel audio routing.
Live Broadcast Simulation & Technical Portfolio Defense
Students execute a complete 15-minute live documentary broadcast or multicam interview under simulated live pressure. Final assessment covers video fidelity, broadcast loudness verification, and complete technical documentation.
